President Bola Tinubu on Monday returned to Abuja after a 10-day working visit to Lagos, during which he engaged with investors, commissioned projects, and attended key national events.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu arrived in Lagos on September 26, after attending the coronation of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Ibadan.
While in Lagos, he held high-profile meetings with investors, including Bayo Ogunlesi, CEO of Global Infrastructure Partners, and Keem Belo-Osagie, Chairman of Metis Capital Partners and former chairman of UBA and Etisalat.
He also received the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Arsenio Dominguez, alongside the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, where he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to developing Nigeria’s maritime industry as an alternative to fossil energy.
Ahead of Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, the President visited Imo State to inaugurate projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma and launched a book chronicling a decade of the APC in government.
He later delivered his Independence Day broadcast from Dodan Barracks and commissioned the renovated National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, urging Nigerians to speak positively about their country.
On October 4, Tinubu travelled to Jos, Plateau State, to attend the funeral of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, where he paid tribute to the late matriarch and assured Christian communities in Northern Nigeria of his administration’s commitment to fairness and equity.
Upon his return to Abuja, Tinubu met with NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Ojulari, who briefed him on the company’s performance, investment drive, and progress toward achieving national production targets.
