Nigerian businessman and socialite, E-Money, was arrested at his Omole residence in Lagos on Monday night by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). His arrest followed allegations of spraying United States dollars at a public event—an act that violates the Foreign Exchange Act and is classified as naira abuse and defacing of foreign currencies.
Though efforts to get a statement from EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale proved unsuccessful, E-Money’s release was confirmed through multiple social media posts by friends and associates. In a show of confidence, E-Money posted a video on Instagram, seated regally while a gospel song played in the background. His caption read:
“No tension, everywhere good, I see all your love and support. God bless you all.”
Fellow socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, also reacted joyfully to the news. He wrote:
“My brother don fall out, To God be the glory.”
Despite the celebratory mood, the EFCC has made it clear that the matter is far from over. Investigations are ongoing, and charges are expected to be filed in court once the probe is complete.
