Legacy Takes Flight: New Book Chronicles Nigeria’s Aviation Industry Journey

Titled “Nigeria Aviation and Aerospace Development – All You Need to Know,” the book serves as a valuable reference and tribute to the sector’s evolution.

A landmark publication chronicling Nigeria’s aviation history was launched in Lagos recently.

The book, titled “Nigeria Aviation and Aerospace Development – All You Need to Know,” highlights the industry’s history, key players, and pivotal moments. It serves as an invaluable reference and tribute to the sector’s growth.

At the launch event, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), Minister of Aviation, was represented by Mrs. Obiageli Orah, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at FAAN.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Orah praised the Wings Support Family Foundation for their commitment to preserving the legacy of Nigeria’s aviation industry.

In his address, the minister emphasized the vital contributions of retired aviation professionals. He referred to them as the “backbone of the industry” and acknowledged their role in establishing a solid foundation for the sector.

Also, the Minister highlighted the importance of progressive government policies aimed at attracting investments to aviation and aerospace development.

He expressed gratitude for receiving the Outstanding Excellence Award in Nigeria Aviation and Aerospace Development. He dedicated the award to the pioneers of the industry.

Meanwhile, highlights of the evening was the book launch itself, which attracted key figures and supporters of the aviation sector.

Engineer Ayodeji Macaulay, the son-in-law of the book’s author, made a generous N2 million donation.

He described the book as an inspiring tribute to Nigeria’s aviation pioneers and praised its comprehensive coverage of the industry’s growth.

During the event, several awards of recognition were presented to distinguished individuals.  Among the honorees was Mrs. Adenike Macaulay, CEO of wakanow.com and daughter of the author.

She was recognized for her exemplary contributions to the development of Nigeria’s aviation and tourism industries.

The launch event marked a significant milestone in recognizing the achievements and future potential of Nigeria’s aviation sector.

Wings Support Family Foundation continues to play a pivotal role in preserving and promoting the country’s aviation history.

The book launch was a highlight with notable supporters pledging significant sums. Engineer Ayodeji Macaulay, son-in-law to the book’s author, announced a N2 million donation and commended the book as an inspiring tribute to Nigeria’s aviation pioneers.
