The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has submitted a second batch of commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The list was presented during Tuesday’s plenary by the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Somtochukwu Udeze, who subsequently referred it to the Committee on Screening and Election Matters for further legislative action.
The second batch contains three nominees with designated portfolios across key sectors of the state government.
The nominees include Henry Arinze as Commissioner-designate for Housing, Nonso Ebonwu as Commissioner-designate for Commerce, and Dr Ezeaka Uwaeme as Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency.
Following the presentation, the Speaker directed the committee to commence screening in line with standard legislative procedures before confirmation.
He also noted that the Assembly is preparing to confirm members of the first batch of nominees who have already been screened.
The first list, which contained 18 nominees, was submitted to the House on May 5, marking the beginning of the ongoing cabinet formation process under the Soludo administration.
The latest submissions form part of efforts by the state government to strengthen governance structure and ensure effective delivery of public services across key sectors in Anambra State.
