The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has held its annual Hajj security parade, showcasing its police, emergency response units, and advanced coordination systems ahead of the 2026 pilgrimage season.
The event, organised by the Saudi Ministry of Interior, featured a large-scale demonstration of the kingdom’s security preparedness, with participation from multiple agencies including special police units, civil defence teams, traffic police, border guards, and emergency medical responders.
The parade was attended by Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif and included aerial displays by helicopters alongside armoured vehicles and rapid-response formations.
Security forces also conducted simulated exercises covering emergency evacuations, firefighting operations, crowd management, and counterterrorism scenarios, reflecting the operational complexity of managing millions of pilgrims during Hajj.
Authorities have in recent years increased the use of technology, surveillance systems, and specialised units to improve safety and coordination during the annual pilgrimage, which draws millions of Muslims from around the world.
This year’s Hajj is scheduled to take place between May 25 and 29, with approximately 1.5 million pilgrims expected to participate.
Saudi officials say the enhanced security preparations are aimed at ensuring a safe and orderly pilgrimage experience despite regional security concerns.
The demonstration highlights the kingdom’s continued investment in logistics and crowd management systems as part of its broader efforts to modernise Hajj operations.
