Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has revealed that she is no longer interested in marriage following her separation from her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko.
Speaking during a livestream with TikToker Jarvis at her Children’s Day carnival in Asaba, Delta State, the actress said her outlook on marriage has changed. However, she made it clear that she still wants more children and hopes to have a daughter someday.
“But for some reason, I’ve checked my mind out of getting married. I’m yet to have a girl. And I must have a girl,” Daniels said during the livestream.
The actress, who is a mother of two boys, explained that she now sees motherhood differently and believes raising a girl child carries a unique emotional responsibility.
“I feel like motherhood starts better. Like you would understand motherhood when you have a girl child. So, having boys is easy because at least you can groom them to have a role model in a father figure,” she said.
“But for your girl child, you have to be that role model for them to emulate.”
Daniels also reflected on how her feelings about having daughters changed after becoming a mother.
“Before I had my first son, I said no, never. I will never have a girl child. Never, ever. But after my first and second child, my perspective changed,” she added.
She further spoke about gender roles within families, saying women often remain emotionally connected to their homes even after marriage.
“Men will grow, get married and focus more on building family. But for women, she will always remember home,” Daniels stated.
Regina Daniels and businessman-politician Ned Nwoko got married in 2019, a relationship that attracted public attention because of their 40-year age difference. The couple share two sons together.
Their marriage reportedly became strained in 2025 after allegations emerged from Nwoko claiming the actress was battling substance abuse and required rehabilitation.
Daniels denied the claims and accused the senator of manipulation, psychological control and abuse. She later confirmed that she had moved out of the marriage and was now living independently.
