The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed reports of alleged primary election results circulating in its name, describing them as fake, misleading, and unauthorized.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the party said its primary elections are scheduled to hold on May 29, 2026. The NDC stressed that it is impossible for any candidate to have emerged as a winner before the exercise takes place.

The statement was signed by the party’s National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, following rumours that activist Aisha Yesufu had lost the NDC ticket for the Federal Capital Territory senatorial seat.

According to the party, the reports being shared online did not originate from any official NDC platform.

“The Nigeria Democratic Congress wishes to inform the general public that our party primaries are scheduled to hold tomorrow, 29th May 2026,” the statement read.

“It is therefore impossible and illogical for any primary results or winners to have emerged when the primaries are yet to take place.”

The party urged Nigerians to ignore the alleged results and any related rumours currently circulating on social media and other platforms.

“We strongly urge the public and all well-meaning Nigerians to completely disregard the fake NDC primary results and false rumours currently circulating. Any result that does not emanate from official party sources should be disregarded,” the statement added.

The NDC also reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a transparent and credible primary election process.

The party appealed to its supporters and registered members to remain vigilant and avoid spreading unverified information ahead of the primaries.
