Ghana’s Enterprise Group to acquire Acacia Health Insurance

Enterprise Group PLC has agreed with Acacia Health Insurance Limited to acquire the health insurance company.

Commenting about the acquisition, Chief Executive of Enterprise Group, Keli Gadzekpo, said, “we are very excited about this transaction which has been a significant part of our strategy for some time.”

The Group CEO further stated that “with the addition of health insurance to our portfolio, we are poised to make an even greater contribution to the insurance industry and look forward to offering our services as thoroughbreds to a wider segment of the market.”

Gadzekpo added that the decision to enter the health insurance business was to give customers a one-stop shop to get all their insurance needs.

“At Enterprise, we set ourselves a lofty objective of being relevant to all those who encounter us. We want to be relevant from what we call ‘cradle to grave.”

“We want a situation where once you come into our domain, you experience the entire value chain of risk mitigation. So we decided some seven years ago that as part of our growth into the future, we will create an ecosystem which will be able to satisfy that cradle to grave mantra,” he added.

Acacia has been in existence since 2013 and is a major private health insurance service provider. The health scheme has accredited Service Providers in Ghana to offer comprehensive healthcare for all its members.

Enterprise Group PLC (GSE: EGL) is a financial services company comprising five operating companies; Enterprise Insurance Company, Enterprise Life Assurance Company, Enterprise Trustees, Enterprise Properties and Enterprise Funeral Services Ghana trading as ‘Transitions – The Funeral People’. The Group also has operations in Nigeria and The Gambia.
