Building Bridges for a Safer, More Productive Future

The 2nd Annual Strategic Aviation Union Leadership Conference in Lagos served as a critical platform for strengthening collaboration between aviation stakeholders.

With the theme “Synergy for Safety and Productivity: Management-Labour Collaboration,” the event, organized by the Joint Aviation Trade Union Forum (JATUF) in partnership with the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, highlighted actionable solutions to industry challenges.

The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, represented by Mr. Henry Agbebire, Director of Special Duties at FAAN, emphasized the alignment of the ministry’s Five-Point Agenda with union initiatives.

This agenda, focusing on safety, security, economic growth, and human capital development, underscores the critical role unions play in advancing the sector.

Union leaders like JATUF Chairman Comrade Illitrus Ahmadu reaffirmed their commitment to workers’ welfare and rights, promising steadfast advocacy for constitutional freedoms.

Facilitators provided practical insights on modern collaboration techniques to enhance safety and productivity while ensuring labor concerns are adequately addressed.

The conference also celebrated achievements, with an Award of Excellence presented to Minister Keyamo in recognition of his leadership and collaborative efforts, received on his behalf by Mr. Agbebire.

According to JATUF Secretary Comrade Hector Nnadi, the event achieved its goals, fostering dialogue and setting a roadmap for stronger partnerships.
