The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has strengthened its internationalisation drive with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with SGH Warsaw School of Economics, one of Europe’s leading business and economics institutions.
The agreement was signed at the SGH campus in Warsaw, Poland, and is aimed at expanding academic cooperation between both institutions through student exchange, faculty collaboration, and joint research initiatives.
LASUSTECH Vice-Chancellor, Olumuyiwa Odusanya, described the partnership as a major milestone in the university’s global engagement strategy.
“This partnership positions LASUSTECH within an elite global academic network and creates pathways for our students and faculty to benefit from international exposure and collaboration,” he said.
On behalf of the Polish institution, the agreement was signed by SGH Rector Piotr Wachowiak.
According to LASUSTECH, the partnership will provide access to SGH’s academic frameworks, including its “Triple Crown” accreditation standards, as well as opportunities for credit-bearing student exchange programmes and staff mobility.
The collaboration will also support joint research in areas such as financial inclusion, digital economy, and innovation, while enhancing access to international academic resources and funding opportunities.
Members of the LASUSTECH delegation included the Dean of the College of Applied Social Sciences, Olumuyiwa Olamade, and Ayo Eso, who participated in discussions on implementation frameworks.
The university noted that the agreement aligns with its institutional development model and Lagos State’s broader educational goals, particularly in strengthening global competitiveness and research capacity.
“This collaboration strengthens our curriculum, enhances faculty development, and improves student mobility,” Odusanya added.
LASUSTECH said the MoU marks another significant step in its ambition to become a globally relevant institution while contributing meaningfully to local and international academic discourse.
