Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office, saying it would enable him to continue what he described as ongoing national reforms and development initiatives.
Fubara made the appeal on Thursday while declaring open a meeting of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
He praised President Bola Tinubu, describing him as a “dedicated and highly patriotic” leader whose administration is pursuing a bold and ambitious development agenda under the Renewed Hope framework.
According to him, continued leadership by the President would ensure the consolidation of ongoing economic and infrastructural reforms across the country.
“If Tinubu is re-elected in 2027, we are all witnesses to the transformation of our battered economy and the ongoing infrastructural revolution… in just three years,” Fubara said.
He added that Nigerians should rally behind the President, arguing that continuity in leadership would sustain national progress and development across all regions.
Fubara also highlighted what he described as achievements of the current administration, including infrastructure development projects such as coastal road construction and efforts aimed at economic transformation.
He urged citizens to remain confident in the government’s direction, saying the Renewed Hope Agenda is designed to promote inclusive and sustainable development nationwide.
In his remarks at the meeting, the governor stressed the importance of unity among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic and cultural groups, noting that collaboration between regions and the Federal Government is key to national progress.
He said traditional rulers play a critical role in maintaining peace and stability, describing them as essential links between government and grassroots communities.
The meeting, attended by traditional rulers from the South-South, South-East, and South-West regions, focused on promoting unity, peace, and development across Southern Nigeria.
Fubara urged participants to continue engaging in dialogue that fosters cooperation, stability, and shared prosperity across the country.
