Germany has opened applications for its scholarship programme targeting graduates and postgraduates across Sub-Saharan Africa, offering opportunities for advanced academic study and research.
The announcement was made on Friday through the official X account of the German Academic Exchange Service, widely known as DAAD, which manages one of the world’s largest international scholarship programmes.
“DAAD scholarships are now available for graduates and postgraduates in Sub-Saharan Africa. See flier for more information and send in your applications. The deadline is 29 April 2026,” the organisation stated in its post.
Interested applicants have been encouraged to carefully follow the instructions outlined in the official programme flier, which provides details about eligibility requirements, participating institutions, and the application process.
According to the organisation, candidates must ensure that all required documents are submitted accurately and completely in order to avoid disqualification.
“Applicants are advised to read all guidelines thoroughly and ensure that complete documents are submitted,” the statement added.
The scholarship body also emphasised the importance of meeting the submission timeline, warning that late applications would not be considered.
“The deadline for applications is 29 April 2026. We encourage candidates to apply well ahead of time,” the organisation said.
The DAAD scholarship programme is widely regarded as highly competitive, attracting thousands of applicants each year from across the region who seek to advance their academic and professional careers.
Germany noted that the initiative reflects its broader commitment to strengthening global academic partnerships and developing future leaders through education.
With the application window now open, eligible candidates from across Sub-Saharan Africa are encouraged to begin preparing their documents and submit their applications before the deadline.
