United Nigeria Airlines has deboarded social media personalities Martins Vincent Otse (VeryDarkMan) and entertainer Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi (Mr Jollof) after a heated altercation during the boarding of a scheduled Asaba–Lagos flight on Monday.
The incident occurred on Flight UN0523 at Asaba International Airport and prompted immediate intervention by the airline’s crew, who acted to maintain safety and order. Both passengers were handed over to airport security for further investigation.
In a statement posted on its official X account, the airline said:
“United Nigeria Airlines confirms that an altercation occurred between two passengers, identified as Martins Vincent Otse ‘VeryDarkMan’ and Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi ‘Mr. Jollof’, during the boarding of Flight UN0523 at Asaba International Airport on the morning of 17 November 2025.”
The carrier emphasised that the crew acted swiftly in compliance with global aviation safety protocols. “Both passengers were deboarded without delay to ensure the safety, comfort, and security of all other passengers and crew members,” the statement added.
United Nigeria Airlines reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for conduct that threatens the security or well-being of passengers or crew. The flight later departed safely after all standard procedures were completed, with the involved passengers still in the custody of authorities.
The altercation follows weeks of online tension between VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof, who have frequently exchanged criticisms and public commentaries on social issues, attracting significant attention from their followers.
Efforts to reach the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority for comment were unsuccessful at press time.
