President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate, seeking the screening and confirmation of Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The President’s letter was read on Wednesday by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, during plenary.
Following the announcement, Akpabio referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for consideration and to report back to the Senate “as soon as practicable.”
Doro’s nomination comes after Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who previously served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman in July.
Further details about the nominee and the screening schedule are expected to be released in due course.
