Former Nigeria international striker, Anthony Ujah, has announced his retirement from professional football, drawing the curtain on a career that spanned almost two decades across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Ujah, 34, confirmed the decision on his Instagram page on Thursday, expressing gratitude to fans, coaches, teammates, and clubs he represented over the years.
The forward began his professional career in Nigeria before moving to Europe, where he made his mark at Lillestrøm SK in Norway. He later featured prominently in the German Bundesliga, turning out for Mainz 05, 1. FC Köln, Werder Bremen, Union Berlin, and Eintracht Braunschweig, where he built a reputation as a hard-working and reliable striker.
Beyond Europe, Ujah also had spells in Asia with Chinese club Liaoning Whowin, as well as in Eastern Europe with Poet Boldivd of Bulgaria.
At international level, he represented the Super Eagles of Nigeria, earning caps and contributing to the national team during his time. His retirement closes the chapter on a career remembered for determination, professionalism, and consistency.
