Spanish golf star Jon Rahm is reportedly preparing to return to the PGA Tour in 2027, in what would be one of the biggest developments in professional golf since the creation of LIV Golf.
Reports published on Tuesday, August 18, indicate that Rahm has agreed terms that would allow him to return to the PGA Tour after the conclusion of the 2026 LIV Golf season.
The reported agreement comes as uncertainty continues to surround LIV Golf following the decision by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) to end its funding of the league after the 2026 season.
Rahm was LIV Golf’s biggest signing when he joined the breakaway circuit in December 2023. His reported contract was worth more than $300 million, making his decision to leave the PGA Tour one of the most significant moments in the sport’s recent history.
The Spaniard has since become one of LIV’s leading players. He recently secured his third consecutive LIV Golf individual season championship, underlining his continued success on the circuit.
However, LIV’s financial and structural changes have created uncertainty over the future of its biggest stars.
LIV recently announced that its 2026 season will finish earlier than originally planned after the cancellation of its scheduled team championship in Michigan.
