Galatasaray have been formally honoured following their triumphant Süper Lig campaign after being hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.

The Istanbul giants secured their 26th league title this season, finishing three points ahead of rivals Fenerbahçe in a tightly contested championship race. The victory further strengthened their domestic dominance and set a new benchmark for consistency in Turkish football.

Among the standout performers in the title-winning squad was Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, who made a significant impact throughout the campaign. The Nigerian forward registered 15 league goals and five assists in 22 Süper Lig appearances, underlining his importance in Galatasaray’s attacking system.

Osimhen also impressed on the European stage, contributing seven goals and three assists in 10 UEFA Champions League matches before Galatasaray were eliminated by Liverpool in the round of 16.

Following their league triumph, the entire Galatasaray squad, dressed in formal suits, was received by President Erdoğan at the presidential residence. Players and officials exchanged handshakes and formal greetings during the ceremonial visit, marking a proud moment for the club and its supporters.

Club president Dursun Özbek also presented Galatasaray’s jersey to the Turkish leader as part of the celebration, highlighting the significance of the achievement.

Galatasaray are now eyeing even greater history. If they succeed in retaining the title next season, they will become the first club in Turkish football history to win five consecutive Süper Lig championships.

Osimhen’s spell in Istanbul has been highly productive, with the striker already winning three trophies during his time at the club. However, his long-term future remains uncertain amid growing interest from top European sides.

Clubs including Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are reportedly monitoring the Nigerian forward, though Galatasaray remain determined to keep hold of their star striker.

For now, the focus remains on celebration, with Galatasaray’s latest title further cementing their place at the top of Turkish football.
