The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Radda, has called on well-to-do individuals in the state to increase their humanitarian services for the poor, orphans, and vulnerable households during the ongoing Ramadan.
Speaking on Wednesday at the Ramadan Feeding Program organized by the Naufal Ahmad Development Foundation, Governor Radda said such acts attract rewards and blessings from Almighty Allah and prevent regret after death.
“Death could pick anyone without notice, hence the need for the rich to do the needful,” he warned, stressing the urgency of supporting those in need during this holy period.
The Ramadan Feeding Program is designed to assist at least 1,600 people in the state capital, each receiving 10 kilograms of rice and grains. Governor Radda urged the faithful to remember the state and the country in their prayers, especially while breaking their fast.
“If you can observe vividly, most of the women here have children, relatives, and husbands, yet they leave their daily schedules to benefit from this intervention. Without the need, they wouldn’t have come,” Radda said. “I am calling on well-to-do individuals to redouble such interventions and other humanitarian services during Ramadan, recognizing the huge rewards attached. God has been showing us lessons we must consider, because death notice is not given. We can only excel in life by assisting each other and feeling each other’s pains. It is even recommended that such good interventions be publicized to serve as lessons for others to learn and emulate.”
Earlier, the Chairman of the Naufal Ahmad Development Foundation and Director General of the Katsina State Directorate of Information and Communication Technology, Naufal Ahmad, emphasized that Islamic faith encourages charity, particularly during Ramadan.
“Whenever you give out, you will certainly get more, and your wealth multiplies,” Ahmad stated, urging other well-meaning individuals to also support their brothers and sisters in need.
