Kano APC Constitutes Committees Ahead of March 3 State Congress

Three committees formed to ensure smooth, transparent, and credible party congress

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Kano State chapter has formed three committees to oversee its State Congress scheduled for March 3, 2026, the party announced on Monday. The congress is set to hold at the Indoor Sports Stadium at 8:00 p.m.

According to Ahmad Aruwa, who issued the statement on behalf of outgoing State Chairman Prince Abdullahi Sunusi, the committees were established to ensure a transparent, credible, and well-coordinated exercise in line with the party constitution and guidelines.

The three committees are:

  • Congress and Accreditation Committee: Chaired by Rabi’u Bichi with Muhammad Yusuf as Secretary. Members include Baffa Babba, Butu-Butu, Hajiya Sa’adatu Algon, Ali Makoda, Abdullahi Rogo, Baffa Takai, Lamin Sani, Sani Ma’aruf, Sani Bala, Khalid Ishaq, Mannir Rimin Gado, and Hassan Hussain.
  • Publicity Committee: Headed by Muhammad Garba as Chairman and Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa as Secretary. Members include Lawan Hussaini, Jamilu Danbatta, Yusuf Sharada, Musa Liliyasu, Ghali Sadiq, Binta Spikin, Uba Dan Zainab, Ibrahim Yaro, and Ahmad Aruwa.
  • Security Committee: Chaired by Col. Malami. Members include Mustapha Bakwana, Director-General of Special Services, Bala Albasu, CP Balarabe Musa, Group Captain Kura, Garba Sani Diso, and Air Commodore Yusha’u Sulaisu Tudun Wada.

Aruwa expressed confidence in the committees’ ability to deliver a peaceful and successful congress, urging party members to cooperate fully and maintain discipline during the exercise. He emphasized that the party remains committed to strengthening internal democracy and consolidating unity within its ranks in Kano State.
