Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has appointed a new Chief of Staff and Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The development was disclosed on Thursday in a statement issued in Port Harcourt by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi.
According to the statement, Fubara appointed Dr Dagogo S.A. Wokoma as the Secretary to the State Government and Barrister Sunny Ewule as the Chief of Staff. The appointments take immediate effect.
The governor had earlier relieved his aides of their duties, including former Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, and former SSG, Dr Benibo Anabraba. The move followed the lingering political crisis in the state and the Abuja “peace deal.”
Fubara stated that the new appointees would be sworn in at 2:00 pm to commence official duties.
