Dele Momodu, a prominent leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has detailed strategies that could help the opposition defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in an interview with Arise Television on Monday, Momodu said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is not invincible. “Tinubu is defeatable if the opposition does its maths correctly,” he stated.
Momodu added that the ADC is actively repositioning itself as a disciplined and credible alternative ahead of the elections. Key to this effort, he explained, are constitutional reforms within the party and coalition-building initiatives aimed at avoiding the mistakes of past opposition movements.
“When there is a coalition, it is assumed that it is a coalition of co-joiners. Everyone at this stage is equal. What the party seeks to do is to be different from other parties. Discipline, unity, and strategic candidate selection can unseat the APC in 2027,” he said.
The ADC’s approach signals a focused attempt to present a united opposition front, emphasizing careful planning and candidate selection as central pillars for challenging the ruling party.
