BBNaija Winner Imisi Reveals She Lost Baby Weeks Before Audition

Reality star opens up on grief, heartbreak, and personal struggles before entering Big Brother house

Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 10 winner, Imisi, has revealed that she suffered a devastating personal loss just weeks before auditioning for the reality show.

In an emotional interview on TVC Entertainment, Imisi—whose real name is Opeyemi Ayanwale—disclosed that she lost her baby in April, less than a month before registering for the BBNaija competition.

Describing the experience as “overwhelming,” the reality star said the grief was a heavy burden she carried into the BBNaija house.

“It was this year in April. It was not even up to a month before I auditioned for Big Brother. The whole thing was so overwhelming for me. I do not want to talk about it,” she said quietly during the interview.

Imisi also shared that she had recently gone through a painful breakup with her ex-boyfriend, Hakeem, shortly before joining the show. She described the separation as “hectic” and admitted that she had not fully processed the heartbreak before stepping into the limelight.

Referring to Hakeem as her “safe place,” Imisi explained that their deep connection had influenced her public persona, noting that the image she projected on social media before the show was largely shaped by his preferences.

Despite the emotional challenges, Imisi triumphed in the BBNaija Season 10 finale on October 5, emerging as the overall winner from a pool of 29 housemates.

She walked away with a ₦80 million cash prize and a brand-new SUV, cementing her place as one of the most talked-about reality stars in Nigeria this year.
