Lagos lawmaker Temitope Adewale has praised President Bola Tinubu for his ongoing efforts to rebuild and reposition Nigeria. Adewale, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, made the remarks on Monday following a visit to the President in Lagos.
In a statement, Adewale described Tinubu as a visionary leader whose administration is “working to make Nigeria great again.”
He noted that Tinubu’s policies aimed at reducing poverty are already showing results, with economic indicators suggesting steady national growth.
“The administration has spread projects across the 36 states of the federation with an ultimate aim to better the lives of the citizens,” said Adewale, who also serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation.
The lawmaker highlighted major achievements under the Tinubu administration, including:
- Stability in the Nigerian currency,
- Reduced volatility in the foreign exchange market,
- Revival of local refineries,
- Renewed focus on technical education, and
- Increased allocation to states regardless of political affiliation.
“For the first time in many years, we now have refineries that are refining fuel for local consumption,” he said. “The President is tightening every noose that made the economy porous in the past.”
Adewale also emphasized the simplicity and humility of the President, describing his visit as deeply personal.
“Asiwaju’s humility, warm laughter, and ability to listen and speak from the heart remind me that true leadership goes beyond titles,” he said.
He added that the nation is beginning to breathe easier, particularly compared to the economic challenges inherited in 2023.
“Foreign Direct Investment had dropped from $2.2 billion in 2014 to $0.47 billion in 2022. But now, the story is changing, as promised in the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Adewale noted.
He concluded by stating that opposition figures are beginning to see value in aligning with Tinubu’s leadership and the All Progressives Congress (APC), thanks to the ongoing transformation.
