Galaxy Backbone Unveils Bold Four-Year Strategic Plan to Drive Nigeria’s Digital Transformation

The new strategy aims to accelerate digital service delivery, connectivity, and innovation across government and businesses.

Chidi Okpala, Head of Corporate Communications (GBB) in a statement to the media described the move by the agency as a comprehensive strategy that is expected to enhance service delivery, strengthen connectivity, and play a pivotal role in Nigeria’s journey toward becoming a fully integrated digital economy.

He emphasized that through strategic partnerships, GBB is poised to drive Nigeria’s digital future, ensuring businesses and government institutions alike are equipped for success in an increasingly digital world.

According to the statement, the newly introduced Integrated Digital Transformation Strategy (IDTS) was developed in collaboration with key stakeholders and focuses on five core pillars that are poised to drive innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.

Building Resilient Digital Infrastructure, Fostering Integrated Digital Ecosystems

In addition, the first pillar of the strategy according to the agency will centre on the creation of a resilient digital infrastructure as GBB aims to provide government and businesses with access to secure, high-speed, and scalable platforms.

”By fortifying Nigeria’s digital backbone, GBB also plans to meet the nation’s growing demand for seamless connectivity and enhanced data security.

”The second pillar, Integrated Digital Ecosystems, seeks to break down digital silos and foster collaboration among government, businesses, and local communities. This will create a more connected Nigeria by establishing a unified digital experience that facilitates communication, innovation, and efficient service delivery.

”In response to the evolving needs of governance and businesses, GBB’s third pillar prioritizes Innovative Service Delivery. This initiative focuses on tailoring digital solutions that address the country’s economic, social, and administrative challenges. By leveraging the latest technologies, GBB aims to drive efficiency, foster economic growth, and improve public service delivery across Nigeria.”

As part of its efforts to implement this far-reaching strategy, GBB is collaborating with government agencies, private sector players, and both local and international partners. These strategic partnerships is expected to  accelerate the adoption of the plan and further the nation’s digital transformation.

Recognizing the importance of trust in the digital age, the fourth pillar, Digital Leadership & Trust, places a strong emphasis on fostering a culture of cybersecurity, transparency, and accountability. According to media statement, GBB is committed to ensuring that Nigeria’s digital infrastructure remains secure, reliable, and efficient, building confidence across all sectors.

Meanwhile, the final pillar, Financial Sustainability, focuses on ensuring long-term growth and impact. By investing in innovative technologies and expanding digital services, GBB aims to not only drive revenue growth but also ensure the affordability and accessibility of digital services for all Nigerians.
