Nigerian hip hop sensation, Ahmed Ololade, better known as Asake, has reconciled with his father, Fatai Odunsi, following a period of estrangement.
In a heartfelt video shared on Sunday, Odunsi confirmed that the long-standing tension between father and son has been resolved, and they are now on good terms.
This reconciliation comes just days after Odunsi had publicly accused Asake of neglecting him after his health began to decline in 2022. The senior Odunsi had expressed his frustration, especially citing that Asake’s mother should have stepped in to address the situation earlier. However, with emotions now settled, Odunsi shared that Asake has made efforts to make amends.
In his emotional statement, Odunsi said: “His mother ought to ask him when last he saw me. That was what got me angry, but we have sorted all the problems. We are no longer fighting.” He further confirmed that Asake has promised to take care of all his needs, adding: “He has said he will do everything that I want. We have settled, no more problems.”
As part of his reconciliation, Asake has pledged to buy his father a new house and cover his medical expenses. This gesture is a reflection of the artist’s commitment to restoring their bond after their period of estrangement.
In addition to reconciling with his father, Asake has also agreed to take full responsibility for his 11-year-old daughter, Zeenat. Odunsi mentioned that although Asake had never denied his child, the young star has now made it clear that he will fully support her.
The reconciliation is a sign of growth and maturity for the 28-year-old artist, who has continued to rise in the music industry. Asake’s willingness to mend family ties and take on his responsibilities showcases a new chapter in his personal life, even as his musical career continues to soar.
