ATQNews.com and the Seven Wonders of Nigeria (Naija7Wonders) have announced the first induction of new members of the prestigious and much coveted Tourism 100 Club listing for professionals in Nigeria since after Covid19. The event will mark a significant moment for Nigeria’s travel and tourism landscape, bringing together both new and existing members for an induction that promises to elevate the industry to new heights.
The project Director of Naija7Wonders and Publisher of ATQNews.com, Ambassador Ikechi Uko, revealed that the upcoming Tourism 100 Club Induction will also host the club’s first general meeting since its formation. Tourism 100 was first launched in the year 1999 as a compilation of leading tourism professionals in Nigeria. In 2017 at Abuja Jabamah, the list of tourism and travel professionals was updated and a new membership list drawn up. Tourism 100 is the ultimate list of the leading tourism professionals in Nigeria and during the Covid19 lockdown they were at the vanguard of promoting domestic tourism using the Naija7Wonders weekly Zoom Conference from June to December 2020.
Naija7Wonders is the search for the Seven Wonders of Nigeria intiated by ATQNews. It was first launched in 2009 and the second edition was in 2020. The selection of the Top 7 man-made destinations was made by members of the Tourism 100 Club. According to Ambassador Uko, this will be a historic gathering that will bring together both new and existing members, setting the stage for collaboration, innovation and shared dedication to promoting Nigeria’s domestic tourism potentials. He emphasized that the core focus of the club’s membership is to drive inbound and domestic tourism growth in Nigeria.
The club will be conducting specialized training sessions for old and new members, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively market Nigeria as a premier tourist destination. The club’s commitment to professional development aims to elevate the standard of tourism promotion in the country. To sustain the momentum and ensure the active participation of its esteemed members, the Tourism 100 Club which is dedicated to recognizing and supporting individuals who have made significant contributions to promoting tourism in Nigeria will fete champions of tourism.
