Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by her Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mike Idoko, in Abuja on Thursday.

According to the statement, party members and supporters participated in an affirmation exercise conducted across all 57 wards in the senatorial district.

The exercise was held simultaneously across the wards before final collation at Kahal Cinema in Okene, where party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters gathered for the conclusion of the process.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission reportedly monitored the exercise, alongside media representatives, to ensure transparency and compliance with electoral guidelines.

Speaking after the collation of results, Natasha thanked party members for what she described as an overwhelming show of confidence and unity.

“This affirmation is a reflection of the trust and confidence the people of Kogi Central have continued to place in our collective vision for progress, inclusion and development,” she said.

She described the turnout across the district as evidence of strong democratic engagement and commitment to strengthening participation within the party structure.

“I am deeply humbled by the massive turnout across all 57 wards,” she added. “This is not just about one individual; it is about our people coming together in unity to deepen democracy and build a stronger and more prosperous Kogi Central.”

The senator further assured supporters of her commitment to sustained engagement with communities across the senatorial zone, pledging to prioritise development, justice, and opportunities if elected.

Her emergence sets the stage for heightened political activity in Kogi Central as parties prepare for the 2027 general elections.
