Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday swore in seven new Permanent Secretaries into the state public service and inaugurated the Chairman and members of the Lagos State Health Service Commission.
The ceremony was held at the Banquet Hall of Lagos House, Ikeja, according to a post on X by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho.
He said the governor charged the newly appointed officials to uphold professionalism, accountability, and commitment to efficient service delivery across ministries, departments, and agencies in the state.
The newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries include Engr. Adeyemi Adetunji Adesanya (Ministry of Urban Development), Mrs Durodola Olusola Bukonla (Local Government Service Commission), Mrs Oladeji Oluwatoyin Olubunmi (Cabinet Office), and Mr Sorungbe Tiwalade Adeyinka (Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology).
Others are Arc. Olukareh Bolanle Monica (Office of Works), Dr Oluwo Adenike Oluwafunmilayo (Health District II), and Dr Martins Babajide Olumuyiwa (Bureau of Public Defender).
In addition, the governor inaugurated the Lagos State Health Service Commission. Dr Oguntimehin Olukayode Olumuyiwa was named Chairman of the commission.
Other members include Dr Ogboye Olusegun Abayomi, Dr Odunuga Omolaja Odushola, Pharm. Dr Adejumo Moyosore Wuraola, and Dr Mrs Fadipe Ololade Omolayo.
Sanwo-Olu urged the appointees to view their new roles as a call to greater responsibility, stressing the importance of strengthening governance structures and improving service delivery, particularly in key sectors such as health, infrastructure, and public administration.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a more efficient and responsive public service that supports Lagos State’s development agenda and meets the needs of its growing population.
