An All Progressives Congress chieftain, Emmanuel Eboh, has declared his support for the re-election bid of Senator Ned Nwoko, warning that internal opposition within the party could undermine peace and development in the Delta North Senatorial District.

Eboh, a former civil commissioner in Delta State, made the remarks during an interview in Abuja on Wednesday. He insisted that the senator continues to enjoy strong backing across the Anioma region and should be allowed to concentrate on legislative duties rather than political disputes ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to him, opposition to Nwoko’s second-term ambition is unnecessary and driven by interests that do not reflect the will of the people. He warned that such moves could create avoidable tensions within the district.

Eboh also cautioned against attempts to personalise political structures in the region.

“Politics should not be reduced to a tool for control or family domination. It must remain focused on service and development,” he said.

The APC stalwart argued that Nwoko has delivered several constituency projects since assuming office. He listed improvements in rural road construction, electrification projects, education support initiatives, potable water supply, and empowerment programmes among the achievements recorded in Delta North.

According to Eboh, these projects have strengthened the senator’s popularity among constituents and reinforced his reputation as a development-focused lawmaker.

“The senator has gone beyond expectations in representing his people. His focus has remained on development and legislative duties that contribute to national progress,” he said.

He also commended Nwoko’s advocacy for Anioma identity and recognition, describing the effort as a significant contribution to the political and cultural consciousness of the region.

“His efforts in promoting Anioma identity will be remembered as an important milestone in our political history,” Eboh added.

The APC chieftain maintained that Nwoko represents unity and stability in Delta North. He urged political stakeholders in constituencies such as Aniocha/Oshimili to resist internal divisions that could weaken the party’s influence in the area.

“He should not be distracted by unnecessary political contestation,” Eboh said, stressing that sustained support for the senator would help maintain stability and development in the district.

Eboh also called on constituents to rally behind Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of Nigeria, as political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to take shape.
