Iran has issued a strong warning to its Gulf neighbours, threatening to destroy their oil and gas infrastructure if its own energy sector is targeted again. The statement, released on Wednesday by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), signals a sharp escalation in tensions across the region.
According to Iranian state media, the Revolutionary Guards accused rival nations of aligning with American interests and warned of serious consequences. “We warn you once again that you made a big mistake in attacking the energy infrastructure of the Islamic Republic,” the statement read, adding that the response is already underway.
The IRGC further cautioned that any repeat attacks would trigger even harsher retaliation. It stressed that future strikes would not stop until the energy infrastructure of those involved — and their allies — is completely destroyed.
The warning follows recent U.S. airstrikes on targets located on Kharg Island, Iran’s main oil export hub responsible for handling the majority of its crude shipments. The move has heightened fears of a broader conflict that could disrupt global energy markets.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump stated that key oil facilities on the island were intentionally spared during the operation. However, he warned that such infrastructure could become future targets if Iran continues to interfere with shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical passage for global oil supply.
The ongoing standoff has raised concerns among international observers, as any disruption in the region could significantly impact global oil prices and economic stability.
