Iran’s judiciary has called for the immediate and uncompromising prosecution of individuals accused of collaborating with foreign adversaries, particularly Israel and the United States, as tensions continue to escalate across the Middle East.
Speaking on Monday, Iran’s Chief Justice, Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei, stressed that the legal system must act decisively against those allegedly linked to hostile nations. According to the Tasnim news agency, he warned against any delays or leniency in handling such cases.
“We must not delay or show leniency in executing final verdicts against those who, during wartime and unrest, committed crimes and were affiliated with the aggressor enemy,” he said.
Ejei further emphasised the need to fast-track judicial processes involving individuals accused of undermining national security, noting that swift action was necessary to maintain public order during a period of heightened instability.
The remarks come amid a wave of security operations across the country. In recent weeks, Iranian authorities have reportedly conducted widespread raids, arresting hundreds of suspects believed to have ties with Israel and the United States.
The crackdown follows a major escalation in regional hostilities. On February 28, joint strikes by Israel and the United States targeted Iran, reportedly killing Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The development marked a turning point, triggering a broader conflict that has spread across parts of the Middle East.
In response, Iran has launched retaliatory attacks against Israeli and U.S. interests in the region, further deepening the crisis and raising concerns about prolonged instability.
Observers say the judiciary’s latest stance signals a tougher internal approach as the government seeks to consolidate control and deter perceived threats during wartime.
