Sanwo-Olu to Commission 233 New Housing Units in Abraham Adesanya Estate, Ajah

Lagos boosts affordable housing delivery as state completes another major project

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will on Friday inaugurate 233 new housing units at the Abraham Adesanya Housing Estate, Ajah, along the Lekki–Epe Expressway.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, and signed by Ganiu Lawal, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Ministry of Housing.

Akinderu-Fatai disclosed that the newly completed project forms part of the government’s ongoing effort to expand access to decent and affordable housing for the state’s rapidly growing population.

According to him: “The project consists of 34 blocks containing a total of 233 housing units.”

The estate is being delivered through a joint venture partnership between the Lagos State Government and Urban Shelter Ltd., a private real estate development company.

The commissioner reaffirmed that the Ministry of Housing remains committed to completing and delivering all ongoing housing schemes across Lagos, in line with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s urban development and infrastructure expansion agenda.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the new development occupies 3.7 hectares within the existing Abraham Adesanya Housing Estate, a site originally commissioned on January 15, 2001, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State.

Friday’s commissioning follows similar housing interventions in the state, including the inauguration of 420 housing units at the Akinsanya Sunny Ajose Housing Estate in Ajah in October 2025, further reinforcing the government’s push to tackle residential deficits in Lagos.
