In a historic move, Arsenal and Tottenham will contest the first-ever north London derby outside the UK when the two Premier League giants meet in a pre-season friendly in Hong Kong this summer. The match will take place on July 31 at the newly-opened Kai Tak Stadium, marking a new chapter in the fierce rivalry between the two clubs.
Scheduled for 7:30pm local time (11:30am BST), the highly-anticipated fixture will be a key part of both teams’ preparations for the 2025-26 season. This will be the first time the north London rivals will face each other outside the UK, adding an exciting international dimension to their storied rivalry.
The match is set to be a highlight of the Hong Kong Football Festival, which will also feature Premier League club Liverpool taking on Italian giants AC Milan on July 26. Arsenal last toured Hong Kong in 2012, while Tottenham visited Japan and South Korea in 2024.
This summer, Manchester United will also take part in post-season friendlies in Hong Kong and Malaysia, but many other Premier League teams, including Chelsea and Manchester City, are yet to finalize their pre-season plans. Both clubs are currently focused on the upcoming Club World Cup, set to begin on June 15.
The historic north London derby promises to be an exciting clash, bringing the fierce competition between Arsenal and Tottenham to a global audience.
