Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, in the early hours of Monday to participate in the Africa Forward Summit, a high-level gathering focused on economic transformation and strategic cooperation across the continent.
The President’s aircraft landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at approximately 00:18 a.m. local time, where he was received by senior Kenyan officials.
Among those who welcomed him were Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, the High Commissioner of Kenya in Nigeria, Isaac Parashina, alongside other government representatives and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission.
The Africa Forward Summit is being co-hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, bringing together African Heads of State, policymakers, business leaders, and development partners.
The summit is expected to focus on key issues including trade expansion, digital innovation, infrastructure development, climate resilience, and broader strategies for sustainable growth across Africa.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to hold bilateral and multilateral meetings during the event aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic ties with other African nations.
According to the Presidency, his participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to African unity, regional integration, and collaborative solutions to the continent’s development challenges under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Nigerian delegation accompanying the President includes key ministers and senior officials, among them the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari; and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.
Others are the Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; and Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani.
Also on the delegation are the Director-General of the National Council on Climate Change, Omotenioye Majekodunmi; the Nigerian Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke; and other senior government officials.
The Africa Forward Summit is expected to serve as a platform for shaping policy direction on Africa’s economic future, with an emphasis on investment-driven growth, innovation, and stronger regional collaboration.
