Elon Musk Confirms Launch of 29 More Starlink Satellites, Boosting Global Coverage

Starlink now boasts over 7,100 operational satellites as SpaceX continues rapid expansion.

United States tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has announced the successful deployment of 29 additional Starlink satellites into Earth’s orbit, further expanding SpaceX’s ambitious satellite internet project.

The satellites were launched from Florida over the weekend, with Musk confirming the update via a post on X (formerly Twitter). “29 more Starlink satellites were added to the constellation,” he wrote on Sunday.

According to data from Space.com, this latest deployment raises the total number of Starlink satellites in orbit to 7,135 as of March 28, 2025 — with 7,105 reportedly operational.

Starlink, operated by Musk’s aerospace company SpaceX, is designed to deliver high-speed internet to remote and underserved regions across the globe. The project continues to grow in both scale and global reach, with services recently activated in Armenia.

This latest launch follows a series of deployments that reflect the company’s aggressive expansion strategy. However, neither SpaceX nor U.S. government sources have disclosed further details on the mission, including specific satellite configurations or technical objectives.

Musk, who has also taken on a more prominent political role as a special adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, remains at the center of both technological and political headlines.
