Since its inception in 2019, the Cybersecurity Conference has been a high-profile event, uniting cybersecurity professionals, government representatives, financial institutions, fintech firms, and industry regulators. This year’s conference will focus on advancing awareness and developing strategies to create a more secure digital environment in an era where cyber threats are increasingly sophisticated.

At the press conference, Ahmad Saad Abubakar, Coordinator of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre, highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, “This conference is a crucial step toward fostering collaboration between the government, private sector leaders, and international experts as we work to build a secure cybersecurity landscape in Nigeria.”

Haruna Jalo-Waziri, Managing Director and CEO of CSCS, expressed his excitement, emphasizing the collective responsibility of securing Nigeria’s financial markets and critical infrastructures. “Cybersecurity is not a battle for one entity to fight alone. It requires the coordinated efforts of government, industry, and experts across all sectors to mitigate risks,” Jalo-Waziri remarked.

Isioma Lawal, Head of ERM & Resilience Service at CSCS, underscored the conference’s focus on nurturing talent and investing in infrastructure. “It’s vital that we develop the young talents in Nigeria while simultaneously addressing the risks posed by AI. By building human capacity and addressing these emerging threats, we can protect our digital future,” she stated.

The one-day event will feature keynote speeches from government officials and global cybersecurity experts, alongside panel discussions exploring effective cybersecurity management and AI-driven solutions. Participants will gain insights into how AI can strengthen cybersecurity defenses, protect critical infrastructure, and shape the future of data security in Nigeria.
