The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo, has called on Nigerian youths to embrace their unique talents and use creativity and innovation to address challenges in their communities.

Soludo made the appeal in a statement released on Tuesday to mark World Creativity and Innovation Day, observed globally on April 21 under the United Nations framework.

She described innovation as more than just technological advancement, stressing that it involves finding new ways to solve problems, uplift others, and create opportunities where none previously exist.

“Today, we celebrate the power of ideas, the courage to think differently, and the beauty of innovation that drives progress across our communities,” she said.

The First Lady, who founded the non-governmental organisation Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, encouraged young people, dreamers and changemakers to embrace their abilities and channel them towards positive impact.

She urged youths to continue nurturing curiosity and supporting bold ideas that can contribute to social and economic transformation.

“Let us continue to nurture curiosity, support bold ideas, and invest in the talents of our people. Because within each of us lies the potential to transform our world,” she added.

Soludo also expressed pride in the creativity and resilience of people in Anambra State, noting their contributions across entrepreneurship, education, skilled trades and professional fields.

She said these qualities continue to shape a more inclusive and progressive future for the state and the country at large.

World Creativity and Innovation Day is recognised by the United Nations to highlight the role of creative thinking in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and addressing global challenges.

The observance encourages individuals and organisations to adopt multidisciplinary and innovative approaches in solving problems at both local and global levels.
