The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has underscored the importance of youth inclusion in governance and national development.
He described young Nigerians as active partners in shaping the country’s progress at both national and community levels.
Tuggar made the remarks during an interactive evening with Nigerian youths hosted by Dayo Israel at the Youth House. The engagement focused on leadership, diplomacy and the role of young people in advancing Nigeria’s domestic and global priorities.
The minister emphasised that Nigeria’s development trajectory depends significantly on harnessing the ideas, innovation and energy of its youthful population. He urged young citizens to remain actively involved in civic processes and policy discussions that shape the nation’s future.
According to him, meaningful youth participation in governance is critical to sustaining democratic institutions and strengthening Nigeria’s voice on the global stage.
In his remarks, Israel, who serves as the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the engagement was part of ongoing efforts to deepen dialogue between government officials and young Nigerians.
He noted that creating platforms for interaction would encourage greater participation of youths in nation-building and leadership development.
The evening featured open discussions, reflections on youth-driven development and a renewed commitment to sustaining partnerships that empower young people across the country.
