President Tinubu hails the late jurist as a fearless and upright officer who dedicated his life to strengthening Nigeria’s judicial system.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of retired Justice Mukhtar Muhammad Dodo, a former Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 70.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the late jurist as an upright and fearless officer of the law whose decades of service left an enduring mark on Nigeria’s judiciary.

Justice Dodo, a native of Katsina State, had a distinguished career in the legal profession. He served as Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria before his elevation to the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where he continued to contribute to the nation’s justice system until his retirement.

President Tinubu hailed the deceased as a patriotic Nigerian who dedicated his life to strengthening judicial institutions and upholding the rule of law.

“Justice Dodo was an upright judicial officer and a fearless jurist who spent his life contributing to the strengthening of Nigeria’s judicial system,”
the President said.

He prayed for the repose of the retired justice’s soul and asked Allah to grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

President Tinubu also extended condolences to the government and people of Katsina State, as well as to the Dodo family, urging them to find comfort in the impactful legacy the late jurist left behind.
