Nigerian Army Releases Shortlisted Candidates for SSCC Course 49/2026

Candidates to report to NDA Ribadu Campus in December for document verification, physical tests, and interviews.

The Nigerian Army has published the list of shortlisted candidates for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 49/2026 Selection Board. The announcement was made in a Monday statement signed by the Military Secretary (Army).

The full list of successful applicants is available on the Army recruitment portal: recruitment.army.mil.ng. Candidates are required to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Ribadu Campus, Kaduna State, on December 1, 2025. Early arrival on November 30, 2025, is advised, with reporting at the selection board venue between 6:00 am and 11:00 am on December 1. Late arrivals after 11:00 am will be automatically disqualified.

Candidates must present original and photocopies of all academic and professional certificates, including NYSC discharge or exemption certificates, as well as a valid birth certificate, certificate of state of origin, BVN printout, NIN slip, and completed forms from the SSCC portal.

Additional items required include: writing materials, blue shorts, white T-shirts, white canvas shoes, toiletries, bedding, full-size coloured photographs, and scratch cards for checking WAEC or NECO results. Parents or guardians must also provide a duly signed Letter of Consent, issued by a recognised court, declaring they will not seek compensation for any injury or death during the exercise.

The selection process will involve document verification, physical and medical tests, academic assessments, and oral interviews. The Army warned that any alterations to documents will render them invalid. While accommodation and meals will be provided, candidates must arrange their transportation. The use of private vehicles and visits from outsiders is strictly prohibited throughout the exercise.

A high level of discipline is required. The Army stressed that any candidate violating instructions will be disqualified and that it will not be liable for injuries or deaths during the selection due to the military nature of the exercise.
