Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry Celebrates ECOWAS on Its 49th Anniversary 


The Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on the momentous occasion of the 49th anniversary of the signing of the ECOWAS Treaty.

Over the past 49 years, ECOWAS has played a pivotal role in promoting economic integration, political stability, and social progress across the West African region.

Despite facing numerous challenges, including political instability, economic volatility, and public health crises, ECOWAS has remained resolute in its commitment to fostering regional cooperation and development.

In a statement signed by the President and Chairman of Council, Lagos Chamber of Commerce 7 Industry Mr. Gabriel Idahosa, FCA, the LCCI commended ECOWAS for its unwavering dedication to its mission acknowledging the significant achievements that have been made in advancing regional integration and cooperation.

These efforts according to him, have been instrumental in driving economic growth, enhancing trade, and improving the quality of life for millions of people in West Africa.
