Popular social media personality King Mitchy has issued a public apology following backlash over a recent live video in which she admitted to taking a substance while broadcasting.

In a video posted on her Instagram page, Mitchy acknowledged that her behaviour was inappropriate and said she was ready to take responsibility for her actions.

“I’m ready to be held accountable for my actions. For some days I’ve thought about my behaviour and I know that I was wrong,” she said.

Admits wrongdoing

Mitchy admitted that consuming the substance during the live session was a mistake, especially considering the influence she has on young followers.

She noted that many young girls look up to her and expressed regret for disappointing them.

“That was very wrong of me because there are young girls that are looking up to me one day, and I know I disappointed a lot of people,” she said.

Apology to Seyi Tinubu

The influencer also publicly apologised to Seyi Tinubu, whom she described as her boss.

Although she said she had already apologised privately, Mitchy explained that she felt a public apology was necessary since the issue occurred publicly.

“My boss, ST Seyi Tinubu, I’m so sorry. I know I apologised privately but I did not disrespect you privately; I disrespected you publicly,” she stated.

Apology to Ooni of Ife and VeryDarkMan

Mitchy also apologised to Ooni of Ife for mentioning his name during the controversy.

She further extended an apology to activist VeryDarkMan, acknowledging his advocacy efforts.

“I see what you’re fighting for. You’re fighting for Nigeria and we can make Nigeria a better place,” she said.

Mitchy concluded by saying the activist deserves more support rather than criticism in his efforts to push for change in the country.
