As Imo State celebrates its 50th anniversary, Governor Hope Uzodimma has called on residents to embrace unity, inclusivity, and active participation in the state’s ongoing development.
In a statement shared via his official X account on Tuesday, Uzodimma described the golden jubilee as a moment to reflect on achievements and look forward to greater progress.
“We have come a long way in our journey of progress, steadily building a State that offers hope, opportunity, safety, and stability for every Imolite,” the governor said.
He highlighted that the state’s growth had been achieved through collective effort and resilience, noting that Imo’s rich human and natural resources, combined with prudent management and strategic planning, had sustained development.
“Imo State is richly blessed by God with abundant resources, a capable and resilient people, and a geographical advantage for growth, and we have complemented these blessings with prudent management and strategic planning,” Uzodimma stated.
The governor pointed to his administration’s achievements in strengthening institutions, improving infrastructure, digitalising the economy, and automating governance to enhance service delivery.
“Despite challenging factors and unforeseen occurrences, we have sustained our momentum toward growth, economic stability, and a secured tomorrow,” he said.
Uzodimma emphasized that the golden jubilee is a celebration of achievement, not age, urging residents to rejoice in the progress made while remaining committed to further development.
“Our golden jubilee is not a mark of aging but a celebration of divine grace and our achievements, even as we aim higher. Let us embrace this path with inclusivity and continue supporting the progressive ideals of our dear Imo State,” he added.
