Reality TV star Maria Chike Benjamin has addressed long-standing rumours surrounding her personal life and relationship status.
Speaking in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Maria denied claims that she knowingly dated a married man when their relationship began.
“I wasn’t aware that he was married when we started dating,” she said, maintaining that she has never intentionally interfered in anyone’s marriage.
The controversy first gained public attention years ago when social media users alleged that Maria was romantically involved with a man identified as Kelvin Anene, who was reportedly married at the time. The claims sparked intense online debate, with a prominent celebrity figure accusing her of “snatching” his sister’s husband and issuing threats during the height of the drama.
Maria, however, insisted she does not owe the public full disclosure of her private life.
“I don’t owe people my personal life. I am not a saint and I’m nobody’s role model because I’m for me,” she stated.
“I didn’t destroy any marriage. I have never and would never do that. I am also a woman and I know how it feels when a man is having an affair.”
Now a mother of two, Maria said she values honesty and prefers not to dwell on unverified claims or speculation about her affairs.
Her comments have reignited conversations online about celebrity privacy, public scrutiny, and accountability in relationships.
