Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu Congratulates Senator Monday Okpebholo, on His Swearing-In as Edo State Governor

On Tuesday, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly sworn-in Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, marking the beginning of what he termed a “new chapter” in the governance and development of the state.

Governor Sanwo-Olu’s congratulatory message came on the heels of Okpebholo’s inauguration ceremony, which took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu lauded the new governor’s assumption of office as a fresh beginning for the people of Edo State, expressing his confidence in Okpebholo’s leadership and ability to bring about positive change.

“A New Chapter for Edo State”

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who also serves as the Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, emphasized that the swearing-in of Senator Monday Okpebholo was a significant moment not just for Edo State but for the entire nation.

He stated that the people of Edo—both at home and in the diaspora—should rally behind the new governor in a collective effort to ensure the state’s growth and development.

“It gives me great pleasure today to be in Benin for the inauguration of Senator Monday Okpebholo as the new Governor of Edo State,” Sanwo-Olu said in his statement.

“I believe that his assumption into office will mark the beginning of a new chapter in Edo State,” he added, reflecting on the importance of the transition.”

Confidence in Okpebholo’s Leadership
