The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), RS5.3 Anambra Sector Command, has stepped up public education on road safety with a successful advocacy program at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Igbo-Ukwu, Aguata Local Government Area, on Sunday.

Corps Commander Bridget Asekauno addressed worshippers on crucial safety measures, covering pedestrian safety, the importance of wearing crash helmets, the dangers of overloading and mixed loading, proper road crossing habits, and the severe consequences of dangerous driving.

“The advocacy initiative is specifically designed to enhance road safety consciousness, promote responsible road usage, and ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations, all vital measures to mitigate road traffic crashes across Anambra State,” Asekauno said. She emphasized that the program aligns with the Command’s commitment to reducing road traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities by 10 percent.

The event included the distribution of informative road safety flyers, an interactive session for questions from worshippers, and active participation from the Unit Commander, RS5.35 Igbo-Ukwu Unit Command, Command staff, and Special Marshals.

Rev. Emmanuel Nwankwo, the officiating priest, praised the FRSC team for the impactful visit, offered prayers for the Corps, and pledged the church’s support in promoting adherence to road safety messages among its members.

The Church Advocacy program at Holy Trinity Anglican Church was widely regarded as successful, reinforcing the vital collaboration between FRSC and faith-based organizations in fostering safer roads across Anambra State.
