Dr. Ikedi Ohakim has publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 general elections, citing what he described as “superlative performance” in Tinubu’s first term.
Ohakim stated that the President’s accomplishments in socioeconomic development, political stability, and infrastructural projects make his re-election on January 16, 2027, a “foregone conclusion” and “non-negotiable.”
“The opposition can attest to the achievements his administration has recorded so far in all spheres of our nation’s development,” Ohakim said in a statement.
The former governor commended support groups campaigning for Tinubu’s second term, particularly the City Boys Movement, which recently visited Owerri to galvanize public support. He described the movement as a collection of distinguished young Nigerians across various fields, committed to national progress.
Ohakim highlighted the massive turnout of Imo residents and other Nigerians during the rally as evidence of public acceptance and the people’s admiration for President Tinubu.
He specifically lauded the leadership of the City Boys Movement, including Barr Seyi Tinubu and Southeast Coordinator Chief Obinna Iyiegbu, for their patriotism and resilience in advancing the President’s re-election agenda.
Reaffirming Imo State’s loyalty to the APC, Ohakim also praised Senator Hope Uzodimma, Director General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, for leading Tinubu’s campaign in the region. “Governor Uzodimma’s doggedness, charisma, and political savvy have ensured that Mr. President’s re-election bid is firmly on track. Imo will vote massively for President Tinubu—Imo is a fait accompli for the APC come 2027,” Ohakim said.
He urged Nigerians to remain patient and supportive of the President, noting that the country’s progress under Tinubu demonstrates that “already things are getting better and the future is bright for our country and her people.”
