Dr Danladi Jatau has affirmed that the All Progressives Congress remains the party to beat in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Tuesday in Lafia, Jatau welcomed over 20 stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party from the Eggon extraction who are set to defect to the APC. He assured all members, especially new entrants, of equal opportunities and rights within the party.

The Speaker described their decision to join the APC as timely and well-informed, noting that he would inform the state governor, Abdullahi Sule, and the party chairman before the defectors are officially received. He termed the move “another big catch and victory” for the ruling party in Nasarawa State.

Jatau called on party members to uphold loyalty, unity, and teamwork to secure a landslide victory in the 2027 elections. He also urged residents to continue praying for and supporting the administrations of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sule.

Earlier, the defection team leader, Alhaji Abubakar Company, said their decision was influenced by the development and quality leadership demonstrated by Governor Sule and Speaker Jatau. He pledged that they would add value to the APC and contribute to electoral success beyond 2027.
