Chelsea’s Tyrique George Opens Up on Nigerian-Ghanaian Heritage

Chelsea midfielder Tyrique George has revealed details about his multicultural heritage, sharing that his father is Nigerian while his mother is Ghanaian.

The 19-year-old, currently on loan at Everton, discussed his background during an interview about life off the pitch. Speaking on Everton’s official channel, George introduced himself, saying: “I am Tyrique George, and here are five things you should know about me.”

He added, “I was born in Camden, London, my mum is Ghanaian, and my dad is Nigerian.”

Having been part of Chelsea’s youth system since 2014, George made his senior debut in 2024. With his eligibility for Nigeria, Ghana, or England, the young midfielder faces exciting choices for his international career as he continues to develop in the Premier League.
