Atiku Abubakar Officially Joins ADC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Former Vice President resigns from PDP and aligns with ADC as he positions for the 2027 polls.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the coalition-backed party he is expected to work with ahead of the 2027 elections.

Atiku made the announcement on Monday via his X handle, posting a photo of himself holding his ADC membership card with the brief caption: “It’s official.”

This move comes months after his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in July, following a prolonged internal crisis within the party. Analysts say Atiku’s alignment with the ADC signals a strategic positioning as he prepares for the next general elections.
